ReplyDeletehi Sundar,I thought its more cost effective. Many ATSs require you to pay an implementation fee to cover the set-up and installation of the system within your office. When you use a web-based system, you avoid this charge.
ReplyDeleteAdditionally, using web-based software means that you don’t need to have a dedicated IT team on site, making it an ideal choice for small businesses who might lack the internal technical resources.
certainly!

DeleteIf it is on-line exams, it will held within certain period of time so how the time constraints will be valid to evaluate the employee competency & the skills?
DeleteIf the participant answer the exam,Will an employer choose He/She as the competent employee for the position?
Hi Sundar,
ReplyDeleteAs you have quoted very correctly, the web based recruitment is getting very much popularized in this country. Of cause this trend was in practice for decades in many other countries in the world. This application is very much user friendly for the applicants and it minimizes time and resources for the management. As the process being faster than the other traditional methods, your focus is perfect.
Hi Sundhar, Thanks for your article on web based recruitment, which I think is of utmost important in todays’ dynamic business world. As a HR person I found this article as a very important and interesting one, as same as any other organization, our company is also struggling when recruiting people. Because it consumes a lot of time to get CVs, to shortlist them, to publish advertisements and so on. But as you have highlighted, I think the practice of using technology and in particular Web-based resources for tasks involved with finding, attracting, assessing, interviewing and hiring new personnel is of course time saving and cost saving as well and makes the process more smooth. Furthermore this will make the process more efficient and effective, as well as less expensive. Besides, online recruitment can reach a larger pool of potential employees and facilitate the selection process.
ReplyDeleteI found a nice research article on web based recruitment, which I thought would be interesting for you to refer. The name of the article is “Web-Based Recruitment: Effects of Information, Organizational Brand, and Attitudes toward a Web Site on Applicant Attraction” by David G. Hi Sundar,
ReplyDeleteOne of the main positive effects which have emerged with Globalization is increasing popularity of web based recruitments also known as e-recruitment methods during the information age. E-recruitment process would benefit for both job candidates as well as recruiting companies to conduct the selection processes without concerning about physical location barriers around the globe. E-recruitment methods would also help in selecting and recruiting more diverse group of employees who suit for the job role by considering the social factors candidates should possess.
However on the other hand, the main drawback of using web based recruitments is "weeding out the weak rather than finding the best talent," according to Lou Adler, CEO of the search and training firm. Although web based recruitment systems are incredibly efficient, the companies might miss out some candidates who appear on newspapers but have other great strengths. Companies might also lose the human element in the recruitment process for example; companies might miss out some opportunities of testing out the interpersonal skills of candidates when adopting an e-recruitment system.
The best approach might be using an e-recruitment method in combination with traditional recruitment methods appropriately and with this, organizations can achieve a perfect balance in the recruitment process. E-recruitment can be used to reach out to more candidates and streamline the recruiting process. But it is also really important to spend enough time in getting to know about the candidates and their interpersonal skills before concluding the recruitment process.
